J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue to waive adoption fees for Betty White Challenge

NEENAH, Wis. (CBS 58) -- J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue in Neenah has announced a special event in honor of the late Betty White. The rescue will waive adoption fees as part of the Betty White Challenge on Wednesday, Jan. 17 from 2 to 6 p.m., a tribute to White's commitment to animal welfare.

The ASPCA celebrated White's advocacy for animals after her passing in 2021, recognizing her on social media as a "constant and compassionate advocate for vulnerable animals across the country."

The event encourages community participation in supporting animal welfare. People are invited to adopt pets with no fees and donate a minimum of $5 to local animal welfare organizations.

Eligibility for adoption requires an approved application and a scheduled appointment for Jan. 17. The rescue emphasizes that the waiver applies to one animal per family, with no substitutions or rainchecks.

More information can be found by calling the rescue at (920) 419-8839.
