Jewish Museum Milwaukee highlights border challenges faced by women

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The challenges, delays and resilience of women seeking asylum in the United States will be brought to the forefront at the Jewish Museum Milwaukee.

The museum has organized a presentation titled "Women in Waiting: Challenges, Delays and Resilience of Women at the Border."

Erin M. Barbato, Director of the Immigration Justice Clinic at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, will guide attendees through the complex issues these women face. Her insights will discuss the political, social and physical hurdles encountered when women try to find refuge in the U.S.

The presentation is open the public and is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 29.  at 7 p.m. JMM Member tickets are priced at $5 while nonmember tickets are available for $10.

Additionally, an exhibit, "Women Pulling at the Threads of Social Discourse," can be viewed between 5 - 7 p.m. Tickets and more information can be sourced from the Jewish Museum Milwaukee website.
