MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Salvation Army of Milwaukee County's Annual Civic Luncheon, set to honor distinguished local figures, will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 30 at Fiserv Forum.
The William Booth Award and the OTHERS Award, the organization's most prestigious honors, will be awarded at the event, recognizing exceptional service and embodiment of the spirit of the Salvation Army's founder, William Booth. This year's recipients are Don Rosette and the combined entity of Metalcraft of Mayville and the Gallun Family, respectively.
Dr. Beverly Peterson, the Executive Director of Development for The Salvation Army Wisconsin & Upper Michigan Division, joined us on Friday, July 28, to discuss more details about the event.
The husband-and-wife team of Jrue and Lauren Holiday will take the stage, as they are recognized for their charitable work via the JLH Fund. Jrue Holiday is an All-Star for the Bucks, while Lauren Holiday is soon to be inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame.
