MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Some Milwaukee Public School students are getting a well-deserved red carpet treatment.
For the first time in school history, the Juneau boys' basketball team is going to the WIAA Division 4 State Tournament in Madison.
They did it all thanks to a 26 and one record.
It's obviously a team accomplishment, but for some, it's a family affair.
The head coach, who went to Juneau himself, has a son on the team. Meaning they're making history together.
"It's a great feeling he's been coaching me my whole life, so it's nothing new, but having him at a varsity level and to make it to state which he has never done so to take him up state feels really good," said 11th grader Dooney Johnson.
The Juneau team is made of MacDowell Montessori School but named Juneau since it's in the former Juneau High School building.
They play Regis, a catholic high school from Eau Claire, tomorrow in the semi-finals.
