Horicon sees 'substantial' storm damage as severe weather makes its way through SE Wisconsin
Shelly Fyksen WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- We're tracking the path of some severe storms making their way into southeast Wisconsin Wednesday.
Storm damage has been seen in downtown Horicon in Dodge County, with the mayor sharing a post on social media asking community members to avoid the area.
"Stay out of downtown. Period. Will update more later," Mayor Josh Maas wrote.
The Dodge County Sheriff's Office says Highway 33 is currently closed due to "substantial damage" to multiple downtown buildings.
The sheriff's office says they're also responding to the Lomira area for reports of "significant" storm damage, as well as reports of downed trees and power lines throughout the county.
Authorities remind everyone to stay away from damaged structures, emergency work zones, and downed power lines.
The sheriff's office says at this time, it's too soon to determine if damage was caused by a tornado. The National Weather Service is expected to conduct damage assessments in the coming days.
