MILWAUKEE (CBS 58)--If there was one week you needed to take advantage of, it was last week when we had a string of days in the 80s. That's becoming a distant memory. Sunday is transition day as low pressure pulls off to the east. It'll give us rain and wind and eventually snow at night as cold air works into the system. There could be a slight accumulation across the metro mainly on grassy surfaces. But several inches could fall north and west of the metro. There's actually a Winter Storm Warning toward the Dells. More than six inches of snow could fall toward the center of the Badger state. A Winter Weather Advisory is in place later this evening into Monday morning for Dane County.
After this system pulls through the area, we quiet down on Tuesday before our next weather maker brings us rain and storms Wednesday into Thursday. With colder air on Saturday, we could actually see some wet snowflakes mixed in as well. Earth Day is this coming Saturday. It'll also be Severe Weather Awareness Week, starting on Monday. The statewide tornado drill will be on Thursday afternoon at 1:45. If the weather forecast looks storm, the test might be canceled. Stay tuned.
