WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- One of Wisconsin's most authentic German restaurants is celebrating a major milestone this weekend.
Kegel's Inn has now been around for 100 years.
The West Allis establishment is known for its Friday fish fries, home brewed beer and German traditions.
They held an open house to honor four generations of business on Saturday, Dec. 7.
Kegel's got started as a prohibition era "soda bar," acting as a speakeasy.
After a century of memories, those currently running Kegel's say there are a few simple keys to longevity, and you can probably guess what they are.
"Great food, great customers, a genuine staff, and people who really just want to take care of you," said Julian Kegel, 4th generation operator.
You might have noticed the large tent Julian Kegel was standing it. That will be up all winter, with some heating. It's another place people enjoy a fish fry and a mug of their favorite German brew year-round.
