KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Kenosha Police Department is getting a new four-legged member to add to the force.

Thanks to Partners with Paws, the department will be getting a therapy K-9 to enhance officer wellness.

Kenosha police say after a "rigorous" interview with Chief Patton, a 16-week-old labrador retriever named "Tilly" will start her training come 2025.

Tilly will be assigned to help KPD's PEER Support Team, a well-trained team of officers who provide support to their fellow officers.

"We believe that keeping our officers well ensures that we can provide the highest level of service to our community," the department said in a news release. "The therapy dog model has seen success in first responder wellness nationwide and we are excited to have Tilly join our team."

Welcome, Tilly!
