Kenosha Police warn of 'gold scam' going around the county

KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Kenosha Police are warning the public about a fake gold scam going around the county.

According to a Facebook post, it usually happens at gas stations, shopping centers and grocery stores. Police say a person will walk up to you, say they need money because they are unemployed due to COVID-19, and then will bring out fake gold trying to sell it at a good price.

Police say the "gold" victims are shown is made of steel and brass.
