Kenosha teen found delinquent in making terroristic threat at elementary school

NOW: Kenosha teen found delinquent in making terroristic threat at elementary school

KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Kenosha teen who tried to enter an elementary school with what authorities thought was a gun, was back in the courtroom on Thursday, Jan. 16.

That 14-year-old was set for a court trial but waived that right as he admitted to the charge of making a terroristic threat at Roosevelt Elementary School.

The teen, who we've been asked by the court not to identify, was found delinquent to the felony terroristic threat charge and had a second weapons charge read in and dismissed.

The incident happened back in early November, when the teen walked into Roosevelt Elementary School with what police believed at the time to be semi-automatic rifle, causing the school and several other KUSD schools to go on lockdown and a manhunt to begin.

Police later found the gun to be a pellet gun and found several airsoft replicas handguns at his home and said the teen admitted to a social worker he went to the school with the intent to scare students.

The teen will have a disposition hearing later this month, where the judge will decide his sentencing.
