MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Young kids learned all about the Great Lakes Sunday, Feb. 15.
It was for the annual "Love Your Great Lakes Day" at Discovery World.
There were hands-on activities, crafts and a dozen organizations to teach kids and families about the importance of protecting the world around us.
And part of that, is realizing that it's more than just a body of water.
"You look outside at Lake Michigan and it's not just a location, it's not just a view," said Paul Fladten, director of marketing and communications at Discovery World. "These partners here really showcase that it's our economy, it's our drinking water, it's our recreation. The Great Lakes really make Milwaukee where you want to live in the future."
