MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Kohl's announced a $750,000 donation to Hunger Task Force over the next year to support access to free food for children, families and seniors in the Milwaukee area, according to a statement from the company on Wednesday, Dec. 10.

The funding's aim is to help sustain Hunger Task Force's network of more than 60 food pantries, soup kitchens and homeless shelters. The donation will also support next year's Summer Meals Program, which addresses food access gaps for youth during summer months.

"Together with Hunger Task Force, we're strengthening access to healthy food for families across Milwaukee at a critical time right now when so many need extra assistance during the holidays," said Christie Raymond, Kohl's chief marketing officer, in the statement.

Kohl's Cares has contributed more than $12 million to Hunger Task Force since 2009, according to the company.
