LaFleur believes Love is still improving
GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- At his season ending press conference, one of the things Green Bay Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur truly believes: Jordan Love is still an ascending and not a descending player.
LaFleur did break some news, saying Love will have a new mentor with Tom Clements retiring. The quarterbacks coach helped the development of Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers and Love.
One thing LaFleur would like to see is more attention to detail. It seems certain things were lacking all season.
In order for a more consistent offense? LaFleur insists they need to work tight end Tucker Kraft more into the game plan.
"One hundred percent," LaFleur said emphatically. "And I think that's on us to make sure that we find him and feature him, because he is, I mean, when he gets the ball in his hands? You feel him. So, if there's an area that we gotta do a better job on I would say featuring the tight end."
LaFleur also added coughing up four turnovers and still having a chance to win shows how well the defense played. But defensively he admits they need to get back to work in the pass rush department and win more one on ones.
LaFleur also shared that the talent was there, but the consistency was not. Especially in the big games when the Packers fell short twice against the Eagles, the Lions and the Vikings.
