Waukesha PD: Man kills grandmother, arrested after standoff near Douglas and Grand
WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Waukesha man was arrested after allegedly killing his grandmother and engaging in a police standoff on Sunday, Aug. 25. The incident began around 8:30 p.m. when the City of Waukesha Communications Center received reports of gunfire near Douglas and Grand.
Police say the suspect admitted to the shooting during a call with dispatchers.
Law enforcement, including the Waukesha Police Tactical Unit, responded to the scene and were able tot use drone technology to notice a woman in the home who appeared to be deceased.
Despite negotiations and attempts to deescalate, the suspect reportedly refused to surrender, leading officers to deploy chemical munitions and a K9 unit to apprehend him.
