Latino Chamber of Commerce celebrates 7th anniversary
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Wednesday morning, the Latino Chamber of Commerce and its supporters gathered to celebrate another year of work.
It marks seven years since the group began its mission to build up the Latino community in southeastern Wisconsin.
The group held a member meeting Wednesday morning, inviting people to make connections and learn about available resources to help their businesses grow.
Chamber leaders say it's that connectedness that strengthens the community.
"Having this support system that has been created thanks to different grants and different partners, we have been able to catapult over 92 enterprises to scale up their operations," said Nelson Soler, president and CEO of the Latino Chamber of Commerce.
The Latino Chamber of Commerce has been busy over the last seven years. They say they've trained dozens of people in financial planning, computer technology and connected nearly 3,000 businesses with economic resources, including more than $1 million in grants.
