The winter weather advisory has been cancelled early for the rest of southeast Wisconsin. The advisory ended on time at 6 AM for western counties as the snow wrapped up. It was supposed to go until 12 PM Friday for lakeside and a few inland counties for the potential for lake effect snow. So far that chance for heavy, steady lake effect has stayed over Lake Michigan. A few lake effect flurries cannot be ruled out by no real accumulation is expected.

As our snow for the day is now done, snow reports continue to come in. Southern counties picked up 2-4" of snowfall with areas within 20 miles north and south of I-94 getting 4-6" then anywhere north of there picked up 6-12" of snow. The biggest reason for the higher snow totals is that the storm tracked farther south than expected so instead of the highest totals in central Wisconsin we saw them drift into our northern counties.

We had a lot of snow fall in some counties Thursday through Friday morning. The main area of system snow wrapped up around 6 AM Friday morning and snow reports are pouring in Friday morning. Most areas south of I-94 picked up 2-5" of snow but counties north of I-94 got as much as 5-10" of snow!

A winter weather advisory remains in effect for lakeside and a few inland counties including Sheboygan, Washington, Ozaukee, Waukesha, Milwaukee, Racine and Kenosha Counties until Noon Friday.

Some lake effect flurries and snow showers have already started in Sheboygan, Ozaukee and Milwaukee Counties. A big batch of steady lake effect snow is also possible through the mid to late morning hours. That snow could result in additional snow of up to or even over 1" of snow.

By Friday afternoon we may see some sunshine which will help to clear the roads of snow. More sunshine is likely Saturday but it will be a chilly day with morning wind chills in the single digits to around 0 and afternoon highs in the 20s. Sunday will warm up into the low 30s and a mix of sun and clouds will result in melting.
