MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A new concert series is bringing live music to the near west side this month.
It's called "43rd+Vliet Live+Stream." Every Wednesday night this month, you can check out performances from 5:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
The concerts celebrate DENIZEN MKE, and Washington Park Media Center's grand openings. They say the music series goal is to create a space for artists and music fans to gather and celebrate each organization's opening. The series will also raise funds to support streetscaping and pedestrian safety efforts on Vliet Street.
The business owners say they're enjoying being grounded in the neighborhood.
"We've had such a wonderful reception from neighbors here in Martin Drive, it's really an active neighborhood," said Sara Daleiden, co-owner of Washington Park Media Center.
From 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. there will be performances from local artists at DENIZEN MKE, with a focus on offering a sober and family friendly space for the community. The performance is free.
Then, from 9:00 p.m. to midnight, community members can buy tickets to attend the "Blanket Fort Live" DJ session across the street at the media center.
If you cannot make it in person, you can watch the livestream for free.
