MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- For the holiday season, one local mom is honoring her late daughter by spreading some holiday cheer to families in need.
The first annual Stella's Toy Drive kicked off on Friday, Dec. 22.
The Lowlands Group surprised one of their employees, Tracy Broekman, with the toy drive.
Broekman's daughter, Stella Polster, passed away at just six months old in December of 2017.
Together, they honored Stella by donating toys to the Ronald Mcdonald house.
"She would be six years old right now and y'know she's not opening presents. So for this, I get to think about all these other six year olds, five year olds, four year olds. Like every year that we've missed I get to think of them opening presents and it just... it honestly takes this broken heart of mine and it fills it and it mends it and it makes it whole again for the first time in honestly years" said Broekman.
Over 100 toys, as well as cash donations were donated.
