Milwaukee creator named to TikTok’s The Discover List 2025
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee's Tamarack Waldorf School has been nominated by the state of Wisconsin to be honored as a U.S. Department of Education's Green Ribbon School. The recognition program highlights schools for their sustainability and wellness efforts.
The Green Ribbon program is awarded to schools that have made progress in three key areas: reducing environmental impacts and costs, improving health and wellness and increasing environmental literacy.
Tamarack was nominated following its "Sugar Maple School" designation, the highest rank possible, under the Green and Healthy Schools Wisconsin program. Schools achieving this level are then considered for national recognition.
The US Department of Education will announce honorees on Earth Day, April 22.
Dorothy Kulke, the school's enrollment and outreach coordinator joined us on Wednesday, March 8 to discuss the nomination and the school's longterm efforts.
More information can be found by visiting Tamarack Waldorf School on Facebook.
