MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- President Joe Biden announced he was pulling out of the 2024 presidential race on Sunday, July 21.
Everyday voters are weighing in on the big news. Most of the people we spoke with today say they weren't surprised by the announcement, and understand the decision, given the president's age and shaky debate performance last month.
"I think that it probably was time for him to step down. and hopefully have someone else step in his place," said a voter.
"It was kind of expected I mean he's getting up there in age and he hasn't been performing very well. It's nice that his family and the Democratic Party are finally taking notice," said a voter.
"I think it's a good move. I wish he would have done it a little earlier and I'm kind of excited to see who's going to take his place," said another voter.
