GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A new era is underway in Green Bay. Aaron Rodgers is gone, and Jordan Love is now the starting quarterback.
"The whole offseason I approached it that I'd be the starter," Jordan Love said.
Love met with the media on Wednesday, May 10, as offseason workouts continue. Love spent the last three seasons as a backup quarterback and now the spotlight is on him.
"It's exciting. I think there's a lot of energy around it. For myself, I feel like I can step up and be more vocal, things like that, knowing I'm the guy and not the backup, so in that aspect it changes a little bit," said Love.
Love has been on standby to take the reins as starter quarterback a few times thanks to the tension between his predecessor and the Packers. So there have been plenty of chances for the new QB1 to hone his craft.
"Since college and since I've been here, I've improved drastically. Just learning the scheme, learning how to play in the scheme," said Love. "Just improve myself as a quarterback, and I think that I've improved in a lot of ways and I try to keep building on that, try to keep working at it."
