Man arrested for 6th OWI after leaving Brewers game

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Madison man has been arrested for an OWI after allegedly speeding in a construction zone.

Deputies were conducting a freeway speed saturation in the Zoo Interchange when they stopped a vehicle that was traveling 75 mph in the posted 50 mph construction zone.

It happened around 4 p.m. on Sunday. 

The deputy smelled alcohol on the driver's breath and he tested .12 on a PBT. The driver allegedly told the deputy that he had just left the Brewers game.

The driver was identified as Peter Buchert, 51, of Madison. 

He faces a felony OWI-6th offense charge which carries a penalty of up to ten years in prison and a misdemeanor charge of Failure to Install Ignition Interlock Device which carries a penalty of up to six months in jail.
