MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee man is facing charges for hitting and killing a pedestrian near 25th and Clybourn on February 11.
According to a criminal complaint, Todd Swessel is charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle.
Court documents state police were called to the area around 6:30 p.m. Once on scene, they saw Swessel unconscious behind the wheel of a car with an open can of beer is his lap. The victim was pinned underneath the car.
Officers pulled Swessel out of the car and he regained consciousness. Officers also lifted the SUV to get the victim out from underneath, but he didn't have a pulse and wasn't breathing.
Swessel told officers he drank four beers prior to the collision. He also admitted to doing drugs before the crash.
If convicted, Swessel faces 25 years in prison.
