The stabbing happened on Sunday, Feb. 3, near 31st and State. The victim was identified as 74-year-old David Grosse by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner.

According to the criminal complaint, an officer with the West Allis Police Department was dispatched to a residence near 61st and Lincoln. The caller, who identified himself as Lannigan, said he had just killed his landlord. Upon the West Allis officer's arrival, he noticed Lannigan had lacerations on his hands and provided medical aid to him.
