RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Racine police say a 34-year-old man is injured after being shot following a physical altercation on Saturday, August 15. 

The shooting happened at around 11:47 p.m., near Lake Avenue and 7th Street.

Police say they located the victim with a gunshot wound to the stomach, and they took him to the hospital. 

The preliminary investigation determined that the man had been involved in a physical altercation with a woman before another man intervened and fired his weapon after being assaulted as well. 

Racine police say the man that fired the weapon has been cooperative with the investigation and at this time has not been charged.
