Marcus Theaters reopen some theaters amid coronavirus pandemic
GREENDALE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Though the world is still living in a pandemic, some movie theaters are reopening.
Masks are strongly encouraged for guests, especially in the common areas, at the Marcus Theater Bistroplex in Greendale.
Patrons can take them off once inside the theater, where there is spaced seating.
The Bistroplex is one of the few local theaters that does in-theater dining.
But for now, that’s canceled.
Though there is a limited menu, moviegoers can still order food and drink they’ll just have to pick up on a table outside the theater.
People are encouraged to buy their tickets and order concessions online – to keep person-to-person contact low.
Moviegoers tell CBS 58 they’re okay with the safe reopen.
“I feel like I’m okay with the theater being open. I mean as long as it’s still, kind of, separate from each other and everybody’s still practicing social distancing, it’s fine," moviegoer Alexis Carson said.
“Some places didn’t survive this, or aren’t surviving this, unfortunately. It’s good that businesses are making the best with what they can," patron Tammie Wohlfiel said.
As of now, the Bistroplex showings are on Tuesdays, and Friday through Sunday.
Also, just four Marcus Theaters in Wisconsin have reopened, so be sure to check ahead before you head out.
