MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Yesterday, Oct. 2, we shared an Instagram post from Mariah Antetokounmpo, revealing that she battled postpartum depression after the recent birth of her fourth child.

She wrote about how she isolated herself and how she felt scared and lonely. She said sharing her experience is part of her healing journey and she expressed the hope that her story can help others.

Today, Oct. 3, we spoke with Andrea Clark from Postpartum Support International, who called Mariah's post an 'incredibly brave thing to do.' She also suggested that Mariah's status as someone who is well known adds to the power of the message.

"No matter whether you are upper class, middle class or economically disadvantaged," said Clark. "The narrative is that having a baby is supposed to be a happy time in your life."

She continued, "And what I so appreciate about what she shared is that it was that until it wasn't that for me. And that's where the shame comes in."

In her Instagram post, Mariah says that if she can help just one person, sharing her story will be worthwhile.
