Funeral held for 3 kids killed in Thanksgiving Day fire in Kenosha
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- This August will mark 10 years since Marquette University graduate and freelance conflict journalist James Foley was publicly executed by ISIS militants while covering the civil war in Syria.
On Friday, Foley's parents attended an event at Marquette highlighting a collection of Jim's letters and notes from captivity, photos and personal writings. Once fully assembled, the university will be home to the James Wright Foley Archives Collection.
"It'll keep Jim's spirit of moral courage alive," Diane Foley said. "I hope it'll inspire students and other brave journalists and people who care about our world, who really want to make a difference in their world."
Diane Foley, who is a leading advocate for Americans held captive overseas, released a book earlier this year titled, "American Mother."
We'll have more on her compelling story on an upcoming edition of CBS 58 Sunday Morning.
