MCTS makes changes to some bus routes including retiring three routes

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Transit System has made some changes to bus routes starting Sunday, January 6. According to MCTS, the routes were changed to "better connect people to jobs, school, shopping and everywhere you need to go."

The changes include new routing, extended service and increased frequency at some stops.

Major route changes were made to Route 22, Route 27 and PurpleLine, Route 57, Route 30 and 30X, Route 31 and Route 35.

Routes 12, 15, 19, 28, 33, 40, 44U, 51, 52, 54, 56, 60, 63, 76, 80, GoldLine, GreenLine, RR1 had minor adjustments.

Three routes have been retired. Routes 6 and 61 were retired due to the end of limited funding. Route 27 was retired and merged with the PurpleLine.
