MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A lot of big changes are coming to MCTS buses starting this Sunday, June 6.
As part of the second phase of MCTS Next, 11 routes will be adjusted, featuring new additions and improvements to better serve riders.
That includes routes 11, 12, 14, 21,34, 53, 57, 58, 80, 88 and the Purple Line.
The changes are to better access places like job centers, shopping destinations, schools and residential areas, among other improvements.
"MCTS Next is all about frequent and faster service, and that's what customers want," said Kristina Hoffman of MCTS. "Our ridership really wanted that, so we've given that to them and already we've started to see a rider increase. Even though we have the 20-percent capacity, more riders are coming on board and we love that."
Masks are still required on all MCTS buses and the 20-rider limit is still in effect.
