MCTS recommends North-South bus line running from Bayshore Mall to Oak Creek Ikea

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Transit System unveiled its recommendation for a new North-South Bus Rapid Transit Line Tuesday at a county board committee meeting. 

A rapid transit line that runs east and west went into operation a few months ago. The North-South line would run from Bayshore Mall, on the north end, to the Oak Creek Ikea store on the south end, covering most of that distance on 27th Street. 

That's 18 miles, with 33 stops. 

According to the recommendation, the buses would arrive every 10 minutes. 

Passengers would be able to transfer to more than half of MCTS' other routes.
