MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a double shooting that killed one man and seriously injured another Friday, Sept. 23.

It happened around 12:23 p.m. near 8th and Atkinson. 

Police say the first victim, a 25-year-old Milwaukee man, was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.

The second victim, a 24-year-old Milwaukee man, was pronounced deceased at the scene despite life-saving efforts. 

The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation.
