MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Five Milwaukee men face charges in connection with a fatal shooting that took place on April 28, according to a criminal complaint filed Sunday, May 3. The shooting resulted in the death of 18-year-old Damare Johnson.

Tayshaun Buchanan, 20, and Tyreik Tucker-Harris, 19, each face a charge of first-degree reckless homicide as a party to a crime. Paul McNeil, 18, faces the same homicide charge along with carrying a concealed weapon and resisting an officer. Aaron Mims, 19, is charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and resisting an officer. Billyen Hall, 17, is charged with possession of a dangerous weapon by a person under 18 and carrying a concealed weapon.

A warrant has been issued for Buchanan, but he has not yet been arrested.

According to the complaint, the victim arrived at the studio around 9 p.m. to record music as part of a rap group.

The shooting reportedly followed a dispute rooted in a rap "diss track" the victim had made targeting another group that included the men charged involving the shooting who were already recording in their session at the studio prior to the victim arriving.

McNeil reportedly told investigators that Buchanan saw the victim and a companion getting to the studio building and said, "I’m finna treat 'em." The complaint says Buchanan opened a door, turned on his gun’s light and fired his gun once, with Tucker-Harris admitting to firing a gun as well.

Hall reportedly called 911 following the shooting.

An autopsy found the victim died from two gunshot wounds to the back and arm.

The studio owner told investigators he was certain the first group fired on the victim's group, and that he did not see anyone in the victim’s group enter the room armed. The complaint says surveillance video showed three of the defendants carrying firearms inside the studio before the shooting.
