Shots fired incident leads to crash near 7th and Locust, 17-year-old killed

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim of a shooting near 14th and Locust as 17-year-old Javontae Davis.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a shooting that killed a 17-year-old boy Monday, Sept. 23. 

It happened around 3:30 p.m. near 14th and Locust. 

Officials say the 17-year-old boy was traveling in a vehicle with a 15-year-old girl and 20-year-old man. Police say the occupants were involved in a shots fired incident and "engaged" an unrelated 51-year-old man. 

Police say the man fired shots at their vehicle, striking the 17-year-old.

The vehicle fled the scene, and was involved in a crash at N. 7th Street and W. Locust. 

Authorities say the 17-year-old died of gunshot injuries. 

The 51-year-old man was arrested, as well as the 20-year-old man and 15-year-old girl. 

An investigation is ongoing.
