MPD: Fatal shooting tied to stolen vehicle on 23rd Street under investigation
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A man was found dead early Thursday morning after a crash and shooting near 23rd and Wright, according to Milwaukee police.
It occurred Thursday, April 17 at around 2:49 a.m. when officers responded to a reported crash. Police said a vehicle traveling southbound on 23rd struck a parked northbound car.
The driver of the moving vehicle had been shot and died at the scene despite lifesaving efforts.
The vehicle had previously been reported stolen Saturday, April 12 from the area near 40th and Auer.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's office has confirmed to CBS 58 that they were called to the scene of a car fire near 23rd and Clarke early Thursday, April 17.
The Milwaukee Fire Department also confirms that there was a car fire at the scene, but they say they did not transport anyone to the hospital.
