MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Mexican superstar Peso Pluma was all smiles Tuesday evening at the VMAs, even after messages were found earlier in the day from a drug cartel threatening the artist. A number of concerts have now been postponed and cancelled across the U.S., including multiple in the Midwest.
In fact, the 24-year-old Mexican singer was scheduled to perform at Fiserv Forum Thursday evening, but that concert has now been postponed and a number of Latino fans are disappointed.
It was a surprise Martha Martinez never got to share with her husband.
"It makes me feel so disappointed and sad at the same time, because I bought these tickets, like, the day they were released, so I waited, like, the whole six months," she said.
Martinez expressed that Peso Pluma is her favorite artist and Thursday was going to be her first concert ever. So, she, like other fans, took to social media, initially, asking if the rumors were true.
"I honestly thought it was a glitch in the Ticketmaster app, so I went online to Ticketmaster.com and I searched it up and then on the event, it didn't have the date anymore, it just said 'to be announced,'" she added.
Martinez received an official email with the change Wednesday morning saying no refunds would be issued at this time.
In a statement late Tuesday, Fiserv Forum attributed the change to quote 'unforeseen circumstances."

CBS 58 News called Fiserv Forum directly Wednesday to find out more details and left a couple of voicemails. The station also sent emails asking about reimbursements, but as of Wednesday afternoon we have not yet heard back.
In the meantime, his concert in Rosemont, Illinois, has also been postponed and the one in Indianapolis, Indiana, has been canceled.
Recent death threats by the Jalisco New Generation Cartel were reported in Mexico Tuesday morning. Banners, written in Spanish, told the artist not to show up at his Tijuana concert set in October because "it will be your last show due to your disrespect and loose tongue."
This, after some of his music inspired and derived from the narcocorrido genre, which has drawn controversial attention directly referencing El Chapo and his son.
At least six of Peso Pluma's scheduled concerts across the U.S. have now been canceled or postponed.
Martinez told CBS 58 that she has to go out of her way, once again, to make sure she can attend the concert once there's a new set date.
"I have two boys -- I have a 3-year-old and a 6-month-old, so it was kind of hard looking for a babysitter," she said.
Peso Pluma has not publicly acknowledged the threat and for now, his shows in Mexico for October and November are still on schedule.
