MFD responds to overnight housefire near 24th and Garfield

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Fire Department responded to a house fire near 24th and Garfield overnight.
They say the call came in at about 1:38 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 24.
Firefighters believed they were responding to a rubbish fire against the house, but once they arrived the fire was on the second floor and attic of the home.
In order to get the fire under control, crews had to pull out of the building and go on a defensive attack.
Authorities learned that no one was home at the time of the fire.
No firefighters or civilians were injured.
They have not yet released a cause or a dollar loss from the incident.
