Miller Park ready for 10-game homestand against Rockies, Mets and Nationals

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- After a week long road trip to St. Louis and New York the Milwaukee Brewers are coming back home for a 10-game homestand starting Monday, April 19.

For the first four games, the Crew will host the Colorado Rockies for the first time since sweeping them in the National League Division Series. Then the New York Mets and Washington Nationals come to Miller Park for three games each. The homestand features two promotional giveaway items and the third Theme Night of the season – Star Wars Night on May 4.

Women in Sports Panel - Hosted by the Brewers and Fox Sports Wisconsin, the “Women in Sports” panel will aim to have an engaging and empowering conversation with 5th graders from the Girls on the Run program and several women in sports from the Brewers, Bucks, Admirals and FOX Sports.

Wednesday, May 1 vs. Colorado Rockies – 6:40 p.m.
Brewers Wives Dinner Delivery – Several Brewers wives will prepare a hot meal for families who are staying at Kathy’s House. Kathy’s House is a nonprofit hospital guest house that provides affordable lodging and caring support in a “home away from home” environment for people who need to travel to Milwaukee for medical care. Open 365 days a year, it is the only such facility in southeastern Wisconsin that serves patients of all ages and their families and caregivers.

Friday, May 3 vs. New York Mets – 7:10 p.m.
Habitat for Humanity Press ConferenceRyan Braun and Brewers Community Foundation will join Habitat for Humanity for a press conference at 1921 N. 29th Street to start the Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity's "Blitz Build," marking the 34th year of Habitat building houses in Milwaukee. Brewers staff will be working hands-on with the build.

Blue Crew Ticket Program – The Brewers will partner with Major League Baseball umpires to offer memorable baseball game experiences for children awaiting adoption and at-risk youth in mentoring programs. Children will receive a VIP experience including tickets, a goody bag of “all things baseball” and the unique opportunity to step onto the field for a souvenir baseball and photo. Umps Care Charities, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded by Major League Baseball umpires, created the Blue Crew tickets program to share the gift of baseball with children and strengthen relationships between children and the adults who aim to make a difference in their lives. More than 4,000 guests have participated in Blue Crew tickets since 2006.

Kids Run the Bases, presented by Aurora Health Care® – After the game, kids 14 and under can come down to the field and run the bases at Miller Park. The postgame Kids Run the Bases line begins along the first-base line on the Field Level. Subject to change or cancellation.

Koos for Kids Event – Following the Brewers-Mets game, many Brewers players and coaches will be headed over to the Harley-Davidson Museum to take part in a special event benefiting bullpen catcher and Racine native Marcus Hanel’s charity, Koos for Kids. Formed approximately 15 years ago out of Marcus’ desire to help children, Koos for Kids focuses on helping terminally ill and disadvantaged children in the area.

Math Day – As part of this special educational day at the ballpark, students will learn basic statistical principles through the game of baseball. In advance of the game, all students will receive a Brewers Math Day workbook, which teachers can incorporate into their lesson plans leading up to the event. At the game, students will put their math skills to the test by completing the remainder of the workbook using elements of the Brewers matchup against the Nationals.
