Milwaukee Admirals host 'Try Hockey' event for local kids

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Admirals hosted a “Try Hockey” event Tuesday, Nov. 19 for local children. This is the Admirals’ third year organizing the event.

This year, they partnered with Milwaukee College Prep to bring elementary school students onto the ice at Panther Arena to practice skating with Admirals players.

"You get to skate with the Milwaukee Admirals, you get to dress in the Admirals locker room, you get your gear, you get your nameplate, you get a jersey, so we think it’s more than just an opportunity to skate, it’s an opportunity to do something really special in the community," said Harris Turer, Governor and CEO of the Milwaukee Admirals.

The Admirals plan to hold another "Try Hockey" session later this season.
