MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Make-A-Wish Wisconsin is helping take kids dreams to new heights. The nonprofit held a ribbon cutting at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport on Thursday, March 20.
They're celebrating the updated children's play area inside the terminal.
It's called the "Make-A-Wish Kid Zone" and features new play equipment, paint, and a carpet specially designed for Milwaukee.
About 75% of wishes require air travel, and this year, the organization is granting 425 -- one of whom was for 3-year-old Hana Muna who returned last week from a trip to Disney World.
"Traveling is a good chunk of the wishes that they grant for the kiddos that are going through hard times," said Hana's mother, Miranda Muna. "Just to see that little stamp and knowing that we're kind of part of the family is a great feeling."
Hana's mom, Miranda Muna, said the family had a blast in Florida on her daughter's big vacation, and they hope to continue having more adventures.
