Milwaukee announces fall leaf rake-out and collection schedule 🍂

CBS 58

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee residents can rake leaves into the street beginning Wednesday, Oct. 1 through Saturday, Nov. 15, according to city officials. Crews will not start collecting street piles until Monday, Oct. 14.

Leaves should be kept one foot from the curb and away from sewer grates to maintain water flow. Yard and garden waste, excluding grass clippings, can be placed on top of leaf piles. Pumpkins and non-organic debris should not be included.

Collection crews will visit each neighborhood about once every 11 working days. A final sweep of the city will take place after the rake-out deadline.

Updates will be posted at milwaukee.gov/leaves, where current and upcoming routes will also be posted.
