Milwaukee area Marcus Theaters celebrate Wizard of Oz 85th anniversary
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The classic story of The Wizard of Oz continues to captivate audiences, and even 85 years after its premiere, it reminds audiences that they're "not in Kansas anymore."
As part of its 85th anniversary, the film is returning to big screens in the Milwaukee area. Marcus Theaters is commemorating the occasion with special screenings at several locations on Monday, Jan. 29, and Wednesday, Jan. 31.
Locations will be showcasing the film as a special event that includes commentary from film historian Leonard Maltin. The anniversary offers a unique opportunity for fans to revisit Dorothy's adventure down the Yellow Brick Road in the magical land of Oz.
The showings are scheduled for 7 p.m. on both days at various Marcus Theaters locations, including Bistroplex Southridge in Greendale, Majestic Cinema of Brookfield, Movie Tavern Brookfield Square, Menomonee Falls Cinema, North Shore Cinema in Mequon, Ridge Cinema in New Berlin, South Shore Cinema in Oak Creek and Sheboygan Cinema.
