MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – Milwaukee County Elections officials are beginning the process to certify the ballots from the November 3 election.
County elections director Juliette Henry met with the Board of Canvassers on Thursday, November 5 to approve the start of the canvassing process.
In the county, authorities say more than 460,000 people cast their ballots. Voter turnout was 83 percent, which is up 3.5 percent from 2016.
The board will meet again on Friday, November 13 for a status report on how the process is going.
“We will start today [November 5] and hopefully finish up no later than the 17th as prescribed by law,” Henry said.
Henry said she will also provide daily updates to the board on how the process is going.
