MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Have you ever gone to a cobbler to get your shoes repaired? There aren't many left in this age of robots and machines.
Friday was the last day for one cobbler shop in Milwaukee.
Peter Gerasopoulos and his family have been operating the 'Cobbler Shoe Service' on Milwaukee's south side for 62 years.
They closed their doors on Friday. Mayor Tom Barrett dropped off a proclamation, recognizing their years of service.
The family says they served generations at their shop.
The Mayor's proclamation declared Friday, November 30 the 'Pete The Shoe Cobbler Day.'
We wish him a happy retirement.
