Milwaukee County Register of Deeds to retire

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – The Milwaukee County Register of Deeds is retiring, according to a press release.

John La Fave will step down on Friday. He has held the position since 2003.

La Fave did not give an exact reason for his retirement but said it was his intention to retire before his 70th birthday.

Governor Tony Evers will appoint La Fave’s replacement to fill out the remainder of the term.

The next scheduled election for the position is November 2020.
