Milwaukee County Sheriff deputy dragged 30-feet by fleeing driver during traffic stop

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) announced Sunday, Sept. 12, that a deputy was dragged 30-feet by a vehicle involved in a traffic stop.

Authorities say that MCSO deputies stopped a vehicle Saturday on State Hwy 175 northbound near Bluemound Road.

Records show that shortly after the traffic stop, the driving suspect fled in his vehicle, simultaneously dragging a deputy 30-feet down the road.

MSCO said the pursuit of the fleeing vehicle ended near N. 49th and W. Garfield.

Officials then report that after the suspect's vehicle stopped, the driver fled on foot but was found and taken into custody.

According to the MCSO, the deputy is believed to have suffered just minor injuries, but is being examined at an area hospital.
