MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Zoo will hold its annual Boo at the Zoo over two weekends this year, running Friday through Sunday, Oct. 17 - 19 and Oct. 24 - 26.

Megan O’Shea, communications manager for the zoo, joined us on Thursday, Oct. 2 for a preview.

The event features a Trick-or-Treat Trail with six candy stops through Adventure Africa, along with themed areas including Pumpkin Park, Haunted Hollow and the Candy Corn Farmer’s Market. Families can see live pumpkin-carving, stroll through the Gourd Gallery of carved pumpkins and try the Harvest Haystack Maze.

Other activities scheduled include a light show, stilt walkers and Halloween-themed science demonstrations.

Indoor animal buildings such as the Aquatic and Reptile Center, Big Cat Country and Primates of the World will be open. For health and safety reasons, outdoor animals will not be viewable.

Pre-purchased tickets are required and available online. Admission is $17 for adults, $15 for kids ages 3 to 12, and free for ages 2 and under. Parking is included.
