MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Animatronic animals from prehistoric times will call the Milwaukee County Zoo home for the next several months.
The zoo is unveiled their traveling "Dino Don Journey" to the Ice Age exhibit Thursday, May 18.
"They're going to see things they've never seen before," said Jennifer Diliberti, public relations manager at the Milwaukee County Zoo.
The exhibit will feature more than 20 animatronic life-size creatures, some of the animals reaching close to 25-feet tall.
The zoo's forest, behind the small mammals exhibit, will be lined with animals like the Woolly Mammoth, short-faced bear, giant rodent and dozens of others.
Zoo leaders said the purpose of the exhibit is to connect people today with the animals of yesterday.
"Journey to the Ice Age" is open during zoo hours:
- 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily, May 20 through 26
- 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, May 27 through Sept. 4
- 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily, Sept. 5 through Oct. 7
