Milwaukee Fire Department rescues 8 people from house fire

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Fire Department responded to a house fire early Tuesday, Oct. 8 near the area of 11th and Ring.

MFD tells CBS 58 that two adults and six children were trapped on the second floor as exterior flames spread to the attic eaves at the rear of the building.

Cews were dispatched following reports of an exterior fire and trapped occupants at around 4:06 a.m. Firefighters extinguished the exterior flames before entering the building to conduct rescues.

According to MFD, everyone inside the building was safely removed.

Medical units evaluated the individuals at the scene, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
