MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The City of Milwaukee is recognizing a group of outstanding employees for their achievement in public service. The second annual City Employee Recognition Awards (CERA) were held Friday, Oct. 18 at City Hall.
Awardees were chosen from a list of nominations submitted by other city workers. This year, nearly 150 nominations were submitted.

"I feel pretty excited. I'm really honored by this award. I'm really lucky to work for the City of Milwaukee and serve the people here," said Bailey Murph, Trailblazer Award Recipient.
Mayor Cavalier Johnson says the awards ceremony has been well received since the inaugural event last year.
He says it's an honor to highlight city workers dedicated to their community.
"It’s every day that we make a change, we make a difference, or we just make things easier for someone and that’s very rewarding and gratifying," said Jim Owczarski, Career Achievement Awardee.
